Step-by-Step Guide to Register with DoCSM (Nepal)
If you’re planning to engage in import, export, wholesale, or supply-related business in Nepal, registering your business with the Department of Commerce and Supply Management (DoCSM) is a key legal requirement. This department operates under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies and regulates national and international trade activities.
- Register Your Business Legally First
Before approaching DoCSM, make sure you have:
- Company Registration (from the Office of the Company Registrar)
- Register Directly in case of proprietorship/partnership firm.
- PAN/VAT Certificate from the Inland Revenue Office
- Prepare Required Documents
Submit the following documents to DoCSM:
- Application form (available at the department or online)
- Copy of Company Registration Certificate
- Copy of PAN/VAT Certificate
- Copy of Citizenship Certificate of the proprietor/partners/directors
- Passport-size photos
- Tax clearance certificate (Not for newly registering company)
- Import/Export-related documents (if applicable)

4. Verification and Processing

1. Name Reservation Fee
- Typically, NPR 100, charged when reserving your business name.
2. Company/Commerce Registration Fee
This fee depends on your authorized capital:
