Step-by-Step Guide to Register in DCSI [Gharelu]

Registering a business through the Department of Cottage and Small Industries (DCSI) in Nepal provides both legal recognition and practical support for entrepreneurs. It enables participation in trade fairs, export programs, and industry networks, supporting long-term growth and sustainability.

  1. Choose Your Business Type

Decide whether your business falls under:

  • Cottage Industry (home-based, traditional crafts, etc.)
  • Small Industry (limited capital and workforce)
  1. Prepare Required Documents

Following are the require documents:

  • Application Form (available at DCSI or online)
  • Copy of Citizenship Certificate (both owner and Landlord)
  • Passport-size Photos (2)
  • Land Ownership Certificate and Rental Agreement
  • Location Map of business site
  • Company Registration Certificate (from Office of Company Registrar if required)
  • Company’s Stamp (if required)
  • PAN Certificate
  • Partnership/Shareholder Agreement (if applicable)
  1. Submit Application to DCSI Office

Go to your district’s Cottage and Small Industry Office (under DCSI) and submit the documents.
